Sichuan Precision Technology (PRS) recently completed the production of essential equipment for a copper electrowinning plant designed for a customer in Southeast Asia. To ensure that all components met stringent quality standards, a dedicated inspection team was dispatched to the manufacturing facility. Over the course of three days, the team conducted thorough evaluations, including packaging, dimensional measurements, and quality checks, to confirm the equipment adhered to schematics and specifications. The inspection process was successfully completed, and the team expressed satisfaction with the final products. The equipment is now ready to be shipped to the customer’s country, ready to be assembled in the electrowinning plant.
Electrowinning Cells
The electrowinning cells (EW Cells) were subjected to detailed quality assurance procedures. Two completed cells underwent a 24-hour hydrotest supervised by an inspection engineer from BV Company. This test simulated operational conditions by filling the cells with liquid to check for leaks, structural integrity, and overall performance under pressure. The hydrotest confirmed that the cells were robust and fully functional, ensuring their reliability in real-world applications.
In addition to the hydrotest, 36 sets of cells were visually inspected for surface integrity, with no cracks or defects detected. Dimensional measurements confirmed that the cells matched the technical drawings, validating their readiness for operational use.
Feed Manifolds and Supports
The feed manifolds, critical for distributing electrolyte in the cells, underwent precise inspection. A total of 36 sets were measured, and the results aligned with the schematics. The manifolds’ rubber supports, totaling 144 pieces, were carefully checked for quality and prepared for packaging. These components passed all tests and were certified for use.
Anti-Seismic Blocks and Capping Boards
Structural stability components, including 144 anti-seismic blocks, were rigorously examined to confirm compliance with design parameters. Eight specialized blocks for end cells were inspected separately, ensuring they met the required standards. The capping boards, which included 36 sets for left, right, and intermediate cells, were also evaluated and packaged after confirming their dimensions and quality.
Cathode Plates
The cathode plates underwent meticulous inspection to ensure high operational efficiency. A total of 890 cathode plates were examined and packaged into 25 steel racks. Key measurements of blades, edge strips, and suspension bars indicated they conformed to the specified tolerances.
Electrical resistance testing, a crucial performance metric, was conducted. The resistance from the suspension bar’s top to the blade’s bottom measured 0.48mΩ, well below the permissible limit of 0.52mΩ, indicating excellent conductivity.
Various accessories for the cathode plates were inspected, including 2937 sets of insulators, 90 sets of tension rods with edge strips, and five rubber hammers. Each component was checked for structural integrity and packaged for shipment, ensuring they are ready for assembly at the plant.
Anode Plates
The anode plates also underwent comprehensive inspection. A total of 927 anodes were reviewed, with all confirmed to be defect-free and accurately dimensioned. These were packaged into 29 steel racks for safe transportation.
Dimensional accuracy of the suspension bars and blades was verified against the schematics. Additionally, the 2937 sets of insulators, essential for proper anode operation, were inspected and packaged alongside other accessories to streamline the delivery process.
This extensive inspection process underscores PRS’s dedication to delivering high-quality equipment for copper electrowinning operations. By ensuring every component, from large electrowinning cells to small rubber supports, meets exacting standards, PRS demonstrates its commitment to supporting customers with reliable and efficient solutions tailored to their needs.
