Chain Zinc Stripping Machine for Zinc Electrowinning
In zinc electrowinning plants, stripping zinc cathodes is a repetitive and labor-intensive operation, especially in tankhouses with high acid mist levels and demanding production schedules.
The Chain Zinc Stripping Machine is designed to automate the handling and stripping of zinc cathode plates. The system integrates cathode plate conveying, positioning, tapping, opening, zinc stripping, plate brushing, cathode plate return, and zinc sheet stacking into one continuous operation.
With a design capacity of ≥600 cathode plates/hour and a plate-to-plate cycle of ≤6 seconds, the system helps reduce manual handling, improve stripping consistency, and lower labor requirements.

This integrated arrangement keeps cathode plate handling and zinc sheet collection synchronized, allowing the stripping line to operate continuously with minimal manual intervention.
Designed for Zinc Electrowinning Tankhouses
- Built for Corrosive Operating Conditions
Zinc electrowinning tankhouses typically have high acid mist levels and demanding operating conditions. Key components such as conveyor chains, sprockets, and critical mechanisms use 316L stainless steel to improve corrosion resistance and service life.
Electrical cables and connections are also protected with dedicated cable trays, galvanized conduits, and high-protection junction boxes.
- Two-Stage Opening and Stripping
The system uses pre-opening followed by main zinc stripping. This arrangement helps deal with firmly bonded zinc deposits while reducing the risk of damaging the aluminum cathode plate.
The opening blades use manganese steel with heat treatment for improved wear resistance.
- Automatic Lubrication
More than 90% of lubrication points are integrated into the automatic lubrication system. This reduces routine manual lubrication work and helps maintain stable equipment operation.
- Simple Maintenance and Fault Diagnosis
The control system uses PLC-based communication and a clear control architecture. Operating status and equipment faults can be displayed directly on the touchscreen, making inspection and troubleshooting easier.
Remote monitoring can also be integrated through a network module for faster technical support.
- Stable Handling of Cathode Plates
The conveying, positioning, stripping and brushing operations are coordinated automatically. The stripping mechanism is continuously optimized to remove zinc efficiently while reducing the risk of damage to the aluminum cathode plates.
