PRS Modular Cathode Stripping Machine | 3 Configurations
Most stripping machine quotations come as a package deal. You want mechanical stripping, so you end up paying for conveyors, washing and packaging whether your plant needs them or not.
This machine is built the other way around. The stripping station is fixed — it’s the same unit in all three versions. Everything around it is optional. Start with the station alone, or take the full handling line, and add the rest once your output justifies it.
Three Configurations
Configuration 1 — Full Handling System
Input conveyor → stripping station → automatic stacker → cathode copper discharge conveyor, with the output conveyor returning stripped blanks toward the tankhouse.
The crane drops a batch of plates at the infeed and the operator steps back. Plates are fed in, stripped, and the copper sheets are stacked into a bundle automatically. Finished bundles leave on their own conveyor while blank plates head back for the next cycle.
Pick this if crane time is your bottleneck, if you harvest on a fixed schedule, or if you plan to add washing or packaging downstream later.
Configuration 2 — Without Copper Discharge Conveyor
Same as above, minus the conveyor that carries copper bundles away.
The stacker still builds the bundle automatically — a forklift or overhead crane lifts it from the stacking position instead. For many plants this is the better trade: full automation stays on the plate side where cycle time actually matters, and the copper side uses lifting equipment you already own.
It also frees up floor space. Not every building has a clear run for a discharge conveyor.
Configuration 3 — Stripping Station Only
The core machine on its own, crane-fed or hand-fed.
This is the version for small tankhouses, pilot plants, and operations moving off manual stripping for the first time. That first step — from hammer-and-wedge to a mechanical station — is where most of the labour saving and most of the blank damage reduction comes from. Conveyors and stacking can wait.

Modular vs. Integrated — Which One Do You Need?

Choosing a Configuration
Three questions usually decide it:
How many plates per shift? Past a few hundred, the conveyor versions pay for themselves in crane time alone.
What does your building allow? Ceiling height, crane coverage and clear floor length rule out the full system more often than budget does.
What’s the five-year plan? If output is going to double, buy the frame that takes the extra modules rather than a machine you’ll replace.
