High Compression Thickener

A High Compression Thickener is designed for solid-liquid separation where a higher underflow concentration is required.

By providing an extended compression zone for settled solids, the equipment allows particles to consolidate more effectively before underflow discharge. It is suitable for mineral processing and hydrometallurgical applications where water recovery and slurry concentration are important.

Thickening Process

The thickening process follows a controlled sequence from slurry feeding to concentrated underflow discharge:

Slurry Feed → Dilution & Flocculation → Central Distribution → Sedimentation → Rake Collection → Underflow

The feeding and distribution stages are particularly important for maintaining even settling conditions. Proper dilution and flocculation help particles form larger flocs, while the settling zone allows solids to consolidate before being collected by the rake and discharged as underflow.

Designed for High-Density Underflow

The main purpose of a High Compression Thickener is not simply to increase settling capacity, but to improve the compression and consolidation of settled solids.

The tank can be configured according to the required diameter, process conditions and site layout.
